Mr. Hobby’s Weathering Color series (EWC) offers high-quality, oil-based paints specially developed for creating realistic weathering effects on scale models. These paints are ideal for applying washes, panel lining, streaking, rust, dust, and filtering effects. With a smooth, fluid consistency, they are easy to manipulate, making them perfect for both beginners and experienced modelers seeking natural, subtle finishes.

Each 40 ml bottle contains rich pigments suspended in an oil base, allowing for excellent control and easy blending. The series is compatible with Mr. Color, Aqueous Hobby Color, Acrysion paints, and bare plastic surfaces—though it should not be mixed with water-based weathering products. For best results, it is recommended to use the dedicated Weathering Color Thinner (WCT201), which ensures proper dilution and protects the painted surface from damage.

The newly released EWC (Enhanced Weathering Color) line features the same trusted formula but comes with an upgraded child-lock cap for improved safety. Inside every bottle, a stainless steel mixing ball ensures uniform pigment distribution, and the paints can be cleanly dispensed using tools like the Mr. Hobby GT117 brush set.

The color lineup includes versatile tones such as Multi Black for soot and shadows, Ground Brown for earth and rust effects, and a wide selection of shades designed for dust, stains, grime, and filter effects. The series was developed under the supervision of master modeler Kazuya Yoshioka, ensuring high usability and authentic results across genres like military, diorama, and sci-fi modeling.

Mr. Hobby Weathering Colors are valued for their reworkability—once applied over a gloss coat, the paint can be partially removed or softened with thinner to achieve the desired effect. Whether you’re simulating dust accumulation, rust streaks, or panel shadows, these paints offer the flexibility and realism needed for professional-grade results.
